The world's coffee lovers event
It’s an annual event for coffee industry players in Europe. All the major companies come together to set up this world fair. Mostly coffee lovers accepted to meet up but also to propose their new products or services that will serve the entire sector. This event takes place every year in June, last year it was in Amsterdam and the year before it was in Budapest. The 2020 edition will take place in Warsaw from 18 to 20 June.

Competitions
Every year there are several world competitions where baristas from all over the world compete for the best. Thanks to everyone's work, a Frenchman went on the second step of the podium in the category of the best coffee tasters in the world. This shows that we are on the right track and that France still has its say in international competitions so continue to train and believe if you want to try in the competitions.
But why is it important to participate in international competitions in specialty coffee?
International events and competitions bring us together, it’s an opportunity to discuss projects and to advance in the business. The competitions bring emotions to the winners and fans but it is also and above all a recognition and a springboard for the specialty coffee trades. It’s the opportunity to show off your talent and introduce new people to coffee. We occasionally had France 3 TV and M6 who contacted us to promote the event.
It seems to me that we need to take a step back to have a broader picture of the impact of the competitions on the coffee market in France and in the world. Events and competitions have a strong and negative impact on ecology in a very short time. We’ll have an opportunity to talk about that later in another article. However, it is also and above all an opportunity to inspire people to join the specialty coffee movement.

Belco, Where sourcing makes sense
Belco is a family-owned, independent company that sources, imports and distributes quality green coffees from around the world. Their main role is to connect coffee producers with independent roasters. It is at events such as the World of Coffee that exchanges can take place between producers and roasters. They can also, if you wish, put you in contact with a coffee producer in order to visit them.
We had the opportunity to make this video for them. Great discovery of the Belco spirit with their famous "Talk & "Cup" where enthusiasts exchange on the actions put in place this year to always offer good coffee to roasters. Good viewing and do not hesitate to contact us for all types of sourcing or accompaniment questions.
